Endometriosis

So to add to my woes, i have now been informed that i have a very bad case of this, has anyone else got this? and more importantly has anyone had a baby having ths?

Re: Endometriosis

What were ur symptoms and how we're u diagnosed?????

Re: Endometriosis

painful and heavy periods, they did the normal ultrasound scan and said it was fybroids but wanted to be 100%, so then did an MRI and confirmed it wasnt fybroid but Endometriosis

Re: Endometriosis

I have endemetriosis. They found a huge cyst and then I had surgery to remove it. I was then put on birth control to control the issue. I'm getting married in a few months, and then we want to wait a year before we start trying to have kids. I have heard so many mixed things on the fertility issues so I'm really just crossing fingers and hope it works out!!

Re: Endometriosis

i suffered from stage 4 endemetrosis for years. you can read about my condition/diagnosis/fertility problems in this thread:

Re: Endometriosis

I had cysts like you wouldn't believe....the pain every month was debilitating.
Even went through surgery for removal......Allah ka shukar everything turned out okay.

Re: Endometriosis

When I tell people that my actual delivery/childbirth was a cakewalk compared to the excruciating and yes, debilitating pain of endemetriosis, i get these incredulous stares, lol. Totally agree with you on that one Muzna.

Re: Endometriosis

Whats with the pain? For the past few months, i get these bad cramps in my lower abdomen when i am mensturating, like theres a lot of gas, similar to marors wala dard. These pains last for the first couple of days. Its horrible. I havent been diagnosed with endemetrosis, i am just wondering can these be related in any way?

Re: Endometriosis

A week before my periods I get cramps that last for 5-6 secs and throughout the day threee....four times and I get it front and my and between my buttocks...sometime I think I have endometriosis..and also I jus recently got married and went for my first vaginal ultrasound my dr told me that I have tilted uterus and my left ovary is close to my uterus...so do u think my uterus is due to endometriosis???.

Re: Endometriosis

I used to dismiss these cramps as "that's what happens" until I was doubled-over in pain......and then lying on the floor at work. Decided to explore and found out what it was only because it became really embarrassing....stupid huh?

Get checked specifically for it.

Re: Endometriosis

I'm not sure if this is the right place to post this but I will anyway. If it isn't please move it to the correct place. I had pretty normal periods until a couple of months ago when I switched to a new birth control (the ring). However, I didn't like it so I just stopped using it and haven't been on BC since then. 2 months ago I completely stop having periods so I went to the doctor but the pregnancy test was negative. I don't know what's going on and I asked the doctor and he said that this happens sometimes and there has been a history of some irregular periods. Anyway, has anyone gone through this before?

Re: Endometriosis

Endometriosis is when the inner lining of the womb grows outside the uterus and attaches itself to reproductive cavity, ovaries, falopian tubes, bladder etc. Left untreated, with each passing cycle, the scar tissue will grow and the pain will increase.

In my case, the scar tissue had completely taken over my bowels as well, and I had IBS really bad. Even going to the bathroom was painful. Like Muzna said, doubleing over in pain on the bathroom floor (which happed monthly with me :bummer:) is NOT normal!!!

Re: Endometriosis

Khatti chic , did you go for surgery, I have same problem , what was our procedure called , how was recovery
thanks

Re: Endometriosis

Yes, I did have a procedure done to clear up all the scar tissue...it was a laprascopic assisted laser surgery that broke up and dissolved all the cysts, and then scraped and cleaned up as much as the scar tissue as possible. It was a day procedure, I spent one night in the hospitable just for observation, and then wa sent home. The recovery was not bad. I had one tiny incision above my belly button and another tiny one above my pubic area, only had some minor bruising and light cramps...I was back to driving 3-4 days later.
