If the mayans truly believed in their calendar, they would have seen their own demise coming. However having said that, it is said that they predicted the rise of Hitler and the rise of communist Russia.

i dont know if all these predictions are true or not check on youtube about that planet-X hitting the earth on 21st of dec and also according to islamic calendar the date is same i.e on 21st...i think its in surah taha also that a star will hit the earth....
waisay there was a prediction on 15th of ramadan(friday) also about that huge earthquake but it didnt occur....

They did not predict the end of the world, but the end of the world as we know it. So perhaps a breakdown in the existing world order, or a world war, who knows.
Nevertheless; end of the world will not happen until imam mahdi as. arrival and setting up of gov. So it wont happen before then.
