They are managing this because Syria has managed much more and gotten away with it. It was a sign for Israel to turn the heat up when they saw Syria was doing this with total impunity too. Just look at the numbers dead in Syria over Ramadan and the numbers dead in Palestine over Ramadan … It’s not a contest … but for some reason the Zionists attacking the Palestinians has had more coverage despite being numerically lower.

What if the 'man knocking on the door', Imam Mahdi, turns out to be from a sect you don't believe in? :D If I am not wrong there is one hadith that says Hazrat Imam AS will be from the family of Prophet PBUH (through Fatima RA). That would mean he will be very likely 'ahle-bait'? Most sects believe each other to be 'kaafir', 'khariji'... how would you 'recognize' him to be on the right? :)

Good point, isn't the prediction that only the true hearted will recognize the mahdi. People will think Dajjal is actually the Messiah and they wont recognize the real one.

Mehdi will not declair himself Khalifa or Mehdi... He will be recognized against him desire. Even People will come to him and say. "The Portents of Mehdi are Present in u, You are the mehdi. But He will deny it. It is Said in a lot of Hades that, there would be a clound just above Mehdie's Head, and a voice from the Skies will cry out "THIS IS THE MEHDI, THE CALIPH OF ALLAH, LISTEN TO HIS WORDS"
This shows those, People who think that someone will come forward and declair himself Mehdi, they are ignorant. My opinion is ,This announcement from sky, will be enough to unite all Muslims (suni and shia).
