They’re loop holes and terms of employment, argh they drive me insane.
They make you do this stupid competency test which lasts two hours and then another test for their “client” which is suppose to be a secret. God, these tests are so easy I don’t know what they take us for.
Khair, and then if they can’t find an oppurtunity that fits your schedule you’ll never hear from them. EVER! Whats worse is that they are so unorganized calling you for ika dooka jobs which lead to no where. I’d say I find better oppurtunities searching myself.
Waste of my time Especially, when I clear out my itenerary to fit these morons in. Only time I got a good employment with an agency was at a bank but after that its all smoke screen and My advice to y’all temporary to permanent employees is steer clear of these morons!
arghhhh i don’t like agencies either…they just want to get ur resume and profiling info to put into their database and i think they make money from it or something
i had the same experience with tests etc…they make all kinds of promises and commitment as though they have tonnes of jobs for us and next thing u know, u never hear from them
and not to mention the flooding of job posts at any employment website …i think i can recognize all the agency names without ever clicking on the links now
I hear ya JP, its so peeves me off. Last employment agency I went to, they’re testing software was screwed up. So I complained that I didn’t get a good mark cuz it wouldn’t let me choose and the stupid lady there gives me this fake smile saying oh we made it that way, puhlease she didn’t even know how to work the mouse of the computer!
Now a days these temp agencies call me, instead of them asking me questions I start questioning them. I was so rude to one agency I told them “am i going to waste my two hours doing your ridiculously stupid comptency questions or am i actually going to get a job”. The brit lady got so offended she started rambling about policy. temp agencies are like pesty telemarketers.
Employment agencies run a monopoly in canada, especially in toronto ontario. Even though the economy is going really good and lots of factories and other businesses are opening up, yet you dont see that much advertising for jobs in toronto. Thas because the privitization of these employment agencies are getting contract with these companies, which is good for company cuz of LOW salary pay, no benefits, no unions, no headache of hiring people, cuz agency does all the work. Now the company pays these agencies for example $18 per hour for one general labour worker, now what this agency does is, put a job positing for this position for lets say $10 per hour. Now just imagine if this employment agency had 400 openings for these kinda jobs. Can you imagine how much money they are making? System in toronto is getting same like pakistan, where rich gets richer and poor stays poor.
It personally pisses me off, cuz if i want to even look for an I/T job, you would have to go through an agency, its very hard to find a job directly through a company who is hiring unless you have referalls or overqualified.
