Employer dictating what your wear at work ..

Re: Employer dictating what your wear at work ..

I would. The field I am in doesn’t require a uniform but we must dress professionally (No slacks, hats, jeans) which I have no problem with. What I don’t agree with is having an employer telling someone to wear inappropriate clothing, or dressing in a way that is ‘uncomfortable’ for the employee. I think people should have the opportunity to express themselves, their identity/culture/ faith through their clothing as long as there is a balance between that and the nature of the organization.

I applaud the people that stuck their ground to have some changes made to their ‘uniform’ so they could fulfill their work obligations to the best of their ability but also practice their faith.
