Dressing professionally but modestly imo is a balanced approach.

Shows you are serious about your work but are mature enough to know what is acceptable to you and can demonstrate that in the way you carry and present yourself to your employer. If an employer asked me to dress in a certain way that I was not comfortable with, I wouldn’t. I have the skills and education to find another employer where I would be allowed to express myself the way I feel best.

So if you were a police officer, you wouldn’t wear a uniform, if you worked at Macdonalds you wouldn’t wear their uniform. The image employees project should be the image that is consistent with employers requirements. We just had one of our gorgeous area manager come back from matt and she was wearing a very short, tight leather skirt with her long fit legs on full display..I thought that was not consistent with her position and if I was the manager I would make her go home and wear sth professional.
