Anyone investing or planning on investing in foriegn markets? If so, what is your favorite country? Besides Pakistan, I am very interested in Cyprus. Strong Pound giving way to Euro plus a market niche in Southern Europe, makes Cyprus a good choice for me. Once the North Cyprus issue is decided, this Island nation can be a powerhouse on the Mediterranean.

I am not really interested in investing in emerging markets. But two for certain to look at are the obvious Poland and Hungry if you can still call that an emerging market.
Btw how would you classify South Africa?
South Africa "emerged" a few yrs ago.
The problem is that i believe that is an incorrect classification. How did it emerge when stronger economies in the CIS countries have yet to emerge....
RF but how do u hedge against the danger of cyprus falling in turmoil as it has in the past. the conditions may be right for Cyprus but there is some risk involved as well. Its proximity to Turkey and thge old issues as well as recent attacks in Turkey paint a potentially risky picture for that place.
