emergency preparedness and back up plans in accidents

are people ever ready or train for these challanges with back up plans? for instance, among friends and family members, some code language if a robber breaks in, a nod that can indicate some action to take for preventing a naive pull into some problem.

Re: emergency preparedness and back up plans in accidents

theres an abbreviation floating around for a couple of months now which ask all people to add a number in your cellphone with the name of 'ICE" (in case of emergency), and number should be someone of the family member. So if God forbids one get involved in car accident , paramedic will have the number from your cell phone to call to.

Excellent thread. I would like to add something more.

At my daughter's school, we were required to give an emergency kit at the beginning of the school year, a bag of change of complete clothing, a blanket, a non-perishable snack, a bottled drink, a favorite toy, a family photo, etc. in case of an emergency where the kids mat have to be kept inside overnight.

Once I also attended a seminar on health and safety where they strongly mentioned that every household should have a stock of emergency supplies of first aid, food and drink in case of hurricanes, storms, etc.
