Where should i get embroidery done in Pakistan? I have heard a lot of people say Lahore is really good for embroidery, but I might not go there and have to do all my shopping from Karachi. Can i get good heavy embroidered dresses from Karachi without compromising on the quality and price?
Plus is shopping more expensive in Karachi or Lahore? Where would you get your wedding shopping done from?

I recently got all my jahez done from karachi. There’s a lady who has beautiful designs . I gave her my budget and she did all my clothes. Party wear and formals. I think she is holding an exhibition also next month. If you want I can pass on the number to you.

There is beautiful embroidery done in Karachi. GUlf, Gizri, Kehkashan (Clifton area) all have good embroidery centers. You can buy the fabric from Ashiana or Gulf nearby and give the embroidery to the embroidery people nearby. That will cut down on price and you can get quality fabric of your own choice too. If you will not be around the Clifton area, there are centers in other areas of Karachi too like Tariq Road, North Nazimabad etc.

Prices are comparable between the two cities. There are less expensive and very expensive both varieties to be found in both cities. I know Karachi very well. Tell me the area you can go and your budget and I can guide you. As a general idea, Clifton , zamzama area has the designer outlets and the most expensive stuff. Though in thye same area Gulf is the most reasonable. Tariq road and Bhadurabad is the upper middle Class area and you can find good stuff there too. This is followed by Gulshan e Iqbal and North Nazimabad (Hyderi) areas. All have good embroidery and boutiques too.

^ yes all these places are good if you have ample time on your hands and you are willing to spend some serious time and energy. I was only in karachi for a week, so found it simpler to just give the task to someone else.
