Email address for resumes

I’ve been using the POP mail provided by my ISP for a few years now. I am now getting rid of that ISP and i may not have access to another POP email account for a while.

I was just wondering whats a good email address to use on resumes? I know hotmail and yahoo dont look impressive at all. Does gmail look professional? What would you do if you dont have a POP email account.

Sincerely,
Captain Lota

Re: Email address for resumes

You can definately use gmail as long as you dont have something funny like [EMAIL="[email protected]"][email protected] :D

Make it look professional, try your real name with @gmail.com

Other alternatives maybe to get a host or a friend to hook you up to a website alias.... type thing. Like they have a website, they can create an email address for you under the company/website name. Generally, the idea is to look professional.

Re: Email address for resumes

There was something similar thread few days back. You can use gawab.com as ur POP mail.

http://www.gawab.com

Best option would be keeping a copy on the server & delete after few days.

Re: Email address for resumes

OR
pay $30 or $36 a year for some cheap hosting company & register ur own domain & have ur own email address with ur domain.

Re: Email address for resumes

You dont need a POP or MOM accessible email account to put on the resume. IMO, there is nuthing wrong with yahoo or hotmail account as long as you dun have the username like sexymama69@ (as bizz pointed out).

Now, if you do need a POP/MOM account and your ISP cant deliver one, then get a premium account from Yahoo or MSN. Or better yet, get one from your hosting company. I believe you have a domain already.

Re: Email address for resumes

Hotmail and Yahoo are as porfessional as anything else. Just don't create a crazy id. I have used acconts from Netscape, Hotmail and Yahoo successfully.
