I have a better idea. Why don’t we just ban Homosexuality instead? What a fruit.

LONDON (Reuters) - Elton John has said organized religion should be banned because it promotes homophobia and turns some people into “hateful lemmings.”

If you think about it, he isnt far from wrong. So very many wars were fought and so many lives lost all in the name of "true religion" which each side felt they had. I dont think there is any stronger influence on people in general and when a religion preaches intolerance or the "I'm better than you" perspective, it generates hatred and almost allows validation of acts against "unbeleivers". This goes for ANY organized religion, I'm not talking Islaam here but rather all religion.

To come to think of it, this freak show is actually being quite fascist and then complaining at people being homophobic. What a hypocrite! I dismiss him, hes done with wasting my time, hes been tossed into the ignore bin forever with me.

I think they should ban homosexuality altogether, its a bad influence on kids. At my primary school there was this one kid who used to play with dolls and wear tights, now im not one to accuse but i suppose...

I agree with him. Organised Religion is reposible for the death of millions.

That is not the fault of religion, rather it’s the fault of man. Homosexuality however, is partly responsible for the spread of Aids. That’s why they’re in the highest risk group.

Take his comment for what it's worth. Had he been a hetrosexual male, you'd have given him more credence. Shame on you for seeing his sexual orientation before his message.

When the imam from Australia decided to blame women for invoking rape, wasnt it us who said "his opinion is not that of Islam?".

Most religion-totting homophobes chant for religious observance when it comes to bashing gays, but deviate from religion when it comes to the other crimes we've committed as an ummah. Are gays the biggest challenge to Muslims today?

The next time a suicide bomber chants death to jews and christians, and kills innocent women and children, can we indirectly hold ALL muslims accountable? If all muslims are not responsible for the death of innocent victims, how can you say aids is the fault of all homosexuals.

Ironically when gays unite, disrespective of religion or race to advocate for equality- Muslims, Jews and Christians unite for once, to hate them.

Now, I agree with Elton but such criticism of orgi religions would make them even more entrenched in the societies. Elton embracing Islam as a homosexual would bring a quick end to orgi religions.

Note to Elton: Dear Elton, I am with you. Please embrace sunni Islam pronto. Wear a hijab too. More homosexual, criminals, republicans embrace Islam and other orgi relgions, more people will disavow their association with thier respective orgi relgions. Jazaak allah khairun

so phat bhalongri wrote some comments at 10:12 p.m. Central time on a sunday, and at 10:44 p.m. central time i.e. 32 minutes later you are wondering where the mods are?

mods are not online 24 hours and are volunteers giving their time to make this community a better community.

usually people would PM mods if they see something inappropriate, and then mod would address the situation when they get time from the other things that keep them away from gupshup..work, family, sleep, school, etc.

Please go ahead and PM the mod of the forum to address your complaint.
