Go to file a report at the station, and they don't have the time of the day to devote to it, because it's too boring. All the excitment is in self-initiated busts. One city copycats the other, and starting in late 1990's, just about every major city has had such busts, over something that is either outright legal or at least tolerated in much of the rest of the world.

The feds actually started investigating some strange money transfers that Spitzer was doing, suspecting there may be some bribery involved. When they wire tapped to investigate this, they heard the other stuff.
Also if you know Spitzer's record - he has been sitting on a tall pedestal and crucifying a lot of other people for similar issues
If it were not for Spitzer, this would not be such a news. Any other governor getting involved in prostitution (or becoming gay, like that New Jersey guy) is tacky, but Spitzer was on this high horse and holier than thou on the whole crime and prostitution thingy.
And to make it the most ironic, Spitzer had once famously quoted Earl Lang on CNN by saying
"Don't write anything you can phone. Don't phone anything you can talk. Don't talk anything you can whisper. Don't whisper anything you can smile. Don't smile anything you can nod. Don't nod anything you can wink. And don't e-mail anything."
If only he had taken his own advice, he wouldn't be in this wiretap-related mess. :D
By the way, if Spitzer resigns, then his successor, the Lt Governor of New York David Paterson, age 53, will be the 4th black governor in the United States history. And most interestingly, Peterson is legally blind.
In most situations any high ranking offical in office busted for prostitution should resign immediately for their family , constituents, and party sake. Trying to hold on shows lack of character.
Hillary will lose 1 super delegate vote over this as the man who will replace the Lt Governor is Republican and won't get a vote. (Lt Governor Paterson also supports Hillary.)
Asking his wife to attend his shameful press conference shows a lack of character. These idiots need to take it on their chins alone and not force their wives to join their shame parade.
