ELF Cosmetics now available in Pakistan

Hi! I just saw that ELF cosmetics are now available in Pakistan from here: https://www.facebook.com/pages/ELF-Pakistan

What do you guys think? Should we try to buy them or not?

Re: ELF Cosmetics now available in Pakistan

ELF products are a hit or miss. it really depends on what you get. their eyeshadows have no pigmentation, the brushes are good, but eventually will break (mine did), their lipglosses are very good, shiny too. I can't say about the rest of the products as I have not tried them

Re: ELF Cosmetics now available in Pakistan

I tried their stuff but blushes broke me out a little so I never tried anything again. I like their studio brushes though. They're very nice.

Re: ELF Cosmetics now available in Pakistan

studio brushes are amaze considering there cheap. bought mine 3 years ago and mine havent shed or broke as of yet. i also bought a baked blush and at first i was really dissapointed since i thought it didnt show up very well. but then i reached for it randomly a few months later and it gives you a nice subtle hint of colour. However, i tend to layer it ontop of another blush since this elf blush has a lot og glitter/shimmer so i just use it as a highlight now.

i also bought i lip stain thingy but feel as if its more of a paint than a lipstick. but i do like it.

i also bought a setting spray and it works quite well.

overall i bought like a ton of products and so far i like them all, esp the brushes.

like it has already been said, theyre a hit and miss. search online to see the reviews.

They're blushes are amazing! Also they do a yellow face powder (mineral boost I think they called it) - sets foundation so nicely (I've been trying to repurchase it for ages, but it's been out of stock for ages).

But yes, they are hit and miss. Eyeshadows are average. Lip products are average. I have 5 of their brushes. Face brushes were average. One of the eyeshadow brushes arrived falling apart! And the other two were amazing.

Worth trying I think!

Agree. I bought their liquid eyeliner and it feels watery, not that pigmented, and does not apply evenly.

Re: ELF Cosmetics now available in Pakistan

This is off-topic and not related to ELF cosmetics in ANY way, but a while back ago I was talking to one of my MUA friend, and she told me never to buy an inexpensive brand of makeup brushes? to which I had never given much thought to this but according to her, some of the companies don’t use high quality bristles but wild boar hair?? Eeeekkk!!

When I did my makeup artistry course back in 2001 our instructor strictly told us to only buy MAC brushes and said they were all made out of goat hair except the yellow ones mixed with synthetic hair…

Too faced cosmetics apparently have ‘teddy bear’ hair makeup brushes…omg How cute :hehe: but only the fallen hair no animals being hurt

So ladies please do your research before purchasing anything that will go on your skin. Hope this helps you all.

^^ just because something is expensive, doesn't mean it's of better quality. you are mainly paying for the name to make up their costs on advertising etc. and most of the cheaper brands like Loreal, Maybelline etc are OWNED by the bigger dogs. for example Loreal( owns Diesel, Ralph Lauren, Garnier and several more)

Re: ELF Cosmetics now available in Pakistan

^^ Ok to answer your question? That’s exactly what It means; why else would you pay the high price for? essentially the formula of the product…And of course Marketing/advertising also go hand in hand

My parents are both chemists with makeup/drug creating background; I grew up around cosmetics formulation ideas. It’s not like I am talking about Pakistani clothing designers here who will get away with whatever

My post wasn’t to highlight the price point of view it was more about the ‘QUALITY’ which is essentially linked to ‘you get what you pay for’ I am reporting what I was told by a reputable professional who’s been in the industry for 12+ years

A good brush isn’t just ‘expensive’ It’s job is to make sure the makeup looks good, a good brush will pack a sufficient amount of makeup for application and it will deposit on the skin without smearing or streaking, will also be comfortable to blend without scratching the surface of the skin. And btw how many of us have the time to replace makeup brushes say every year? after its given its all? something to also think about.

As goes for the bigger dogs you mention, they cater to the costumer market under one umbrella, thats their job. I will write more on this later in a separate thread.

ps: I should also highlight, some posters here in this very same thread about ELF’s eyeliner being watery? It’s affordable for the most part, but why isn’t the quality holding up? please I would like to know what you think?
