Elephants Drinking Milk.

I wanted to know what people think about what happened past few years ago when the Hindu God Ganesh started to drink milk.

However, a muslim friend of mine suggested that in fact the God drinking milk is a real event that did in fact happen (as in, it was really a miracalous event). But it was a test to see how people react to their own faith, and said something of the Jinn always making himself present in other forms to lure people away from their beliefs, and that this event was simply a test of Muslims faith.

I know of scientific evidence, that explains it to be capillary action of material in which the God was sculpted from, which explains why the God couldn’t drink milk from metallic sculptures, but only from Ceramic and natural rock.

What do ya guys think?

Though I tend to believe that there was not a miracle (in that, when I did it, I didn't feel some sort of sense of awe and amazement), I still wonder how a small statue of Ganesh can hold such a large volume of milk.

Think of the statues composition as like a SPONGE. Some sponges holes aren't even visible, when immersed in water, they hold water. Capillary action is the same idea, and with large statues, it is very possible soak up liquids of that volume.

However, what leaves me puzzled is. The rate of which the milk was being consumed. We could all see that the milk was ZOOMING right off the spoons. It wasn't a slow process. Another is, most of the sculptures ceramics were glazed, it is hard for capillary action to occur when the surface is glazed.. I know the American media, and Christians tried their hardest to disprove this phenemona, and they actually came up with their own a several weeks later, of pictures of Virgin Mary, bleeding milk from her eyes. However, this didn't occur everywhere, only in selected places.. And the public wasn't allow to go close to it, which makes me believe it was made up. Unlike the Hindu event, where the media and tv was allowed, and encouraged to enter the mandirs to see for themselves..

And another thing that makes me wonder is. Why did such a phenemona suddenly dissappear off our TV sets? And how come noone really talks about it. AFterall, the whole world saw what happened. More scientists didn't go in to investigate.. Nor do even Mandirs and Hindu's talk about it, or use it often as a proof to show how 'marvellous' hinduism is. I would think, such a miracle would be the basis to use by the Mandirs to show everyone else's religion is false etc..

Re: Elephants Drinking Milk.

salam, there are many explanations for this, jinn could have been behind this, or it was an optical illusion, but it definitley was not a miracle.

Re: Elephants Drinking Milk.

thats it rigfht there.. thats all that happened.. the religious just spiraled it out of control...

it was not a miracle. it was not a jinn testing other religions..stop believing in nonsense..

Re: Elephants Drinking Milk.

Drinking and Eating are characteristics of “Creation” not “The Creator” - who is far removed of such needs … inevitably that what goes in must come out … the milk that was absorbed by the porous marble/limestone statues would have eventually gone off … When Jesus (AS) sat with his disciples in the New Testament to eat with them he did it to show that he is human and in the flesh … drinking is no miracle.

If the statue did drink the milk then did it grow as well?

Tomorrow’s world said the same thing as you Arai …

and look at this wiki article …

Re: Elephants Drinking Milk.

yup the creator doesnt need to eat or drink. he is busy throwing people into a maze of mysteries testing them and waiting anxiously and proactively to punish them for eternity should they sway from the prescribed but often illogical and senseless path.
