so today fisrt time i roast 2 tikka’s in oven but…
usually in cooking shows they say bake or roast it for 30 min but in my case chiken wasnt cooked in 30 mins i had to cooked it for almost 1.30 hours then it was done…it were only 2 big pieces not whole chicken still i had to cook it for 1.30 hours
do they lie or it was something wrong with my oven..it was a small size electronic oven and i cooked it on 200 …???
i was very scared that oven might burst because i m cooking it for almost 2 hours in one time..
btw is it save to cook for long time…?
and excess oil splashes were also all over the oven inside..i was scared with them too???
last question question is can we switch the thermostate to grill to roast to bake…and also anti clockwise..

I think you may have to find the instructions to the oven. On my oven I have 2 knobs, 1 knob controls whether it acts as an oven, fan assisted oven or a grill and the other knob controls the temperature.
About the temp, 200 is very hot if that thats in degrees celcious, and very low if thats in degrees farenheit I'm guessing you used degrees farenheit maybe next time use around 350.
As for the time cooking chicken for 2 hours is not gonna kill you might make the chicken a bit dry though.
no it was 200c..but chciken was not even half cooked in 30 mins may b winter ki waja se or it is small in sized so not hetaing the way big size oven does???

can i switch the the knob while oven is on from grill to bake and bake to roast and can i turn it anti clockwise???? because in my oven there is a off button then grill then roast and then bake so if i m baking and i want to swith to grill either i turn it anti clockwise to change or fisrt i turn too off then i can switch to grill if i go clockwise
if you cooked two pieces of chicken for one and half hours to cook them , at 200 degrees Celsius then there seems to be something wrong with the oven you need to get it replaced. if the oven is working right then The two pieces of chicken will become charcoal at that temperature and for that much time.
The answer to the question of turning the knob clockwise and anti clockwise anytime during the cooking process does not ruin the oven. You can safely do it .
i dont know may b voltage problem ....or it wasnt preheated ...or i dont know...i guess oven was not hetaing the way oven should so it took very long to cook..
