Re: Electrolysis Hair Removal
go with laser, my friend had electrolysis on her face and has major scarring, i've also seen the same scarring on another friend's legs.
I 'm not sure what lasers they use in Pak... there are various types and some don't work at all. i think it's the yag laser that's supposed to be good, but i'd do my research if i was you.

Thanks so much for ur reply ublyjubly but i have had 6 laser session on my face and my face got worse after that. it induced excessive hair growth on the areas where i didnt have hair. coz i have mostly fine hair and laser doesnt work for fine hair.
i have done some research on both laser and electrolysis and learnt that laser is not permanent and it doesnt work for all... electrolysis is the only permanent solution for fine hair....
i am also thinking about using Vaniqa until i start some permanent method
Re: Electrolysis Hair Removal
it got worse? it shouldn't do! there are many types of 'laser' treatment and some aren't actually laser.. there is IPL, aculight, and a number of different actual laser types. some really don't work and some do... true it's not permanent, but it is permanent reduction. you end up having one session every 2+ years after the initial 6-12 sessions. which i think is reasonable.
if u want laser or electrolysis don't use vaniqa, it'll mess up the growth pattern when it comes to using the permanent method. plus it takes 8 weeks to work and then 8 weeks to go back to normal after u stop using it.
i will find the name of the laser i used and post it. i had excellent results.
Re: Electrolysis Hair Removal
I am so scared of laser now that its become a nightmare for me.. actually the lady who did it was really a cheater and inexperienced. my skin was badly burnt and i got so much scars during the last session. i only know the name of laser that she used on me. it was Fotona. but dont know anything else about the machine.
i had coarse hair on my chin but very fine hair on the rest of my face.. but now after LHR i have combination of fine, course and long hair all over my face even on my neck. it looks ugly. before laser i used to thread my chin and bleach my face but know i cannt hide my faicial hair by bleaching. everyone notices it and asks that what have i done to my face and why got so much hair growth. i had much more self esteem before LHR but now i cannt face any person talking to me in the daylight. i dont wax my face coz it also triggers hair growth and also dont want do shave like men. she had ruined my face
i really want my face back but i cant

Re: Electrolysis Hair Removal
That's awful. special training is required for laser and electrolysis. in the uk they are super careful... it's wrong that anyone can just start lasering in pakistan... they need to start on the very lowest setting and slowly work their way up. maybe try an actual doctor who is a dermatologist or someone who can provide you with their training certificates and you can check their background.
i'm not sure what to recommend for the scarring... it may fade in time, my waxing scars have gone. i have heard that longer term waxing and threading lessens hair, maybe you should try this for longer.
otherwise be very careful with your electrolysis if you do start. do a patch somewhere like on your leg, so you can check the results before doing your face.
Another thing is excess hair growth could be due to PCOS a hormone condition. if you also have irregular periods with or without acne and xs weight this may be a possible cause. Then you could try hormonal treatment.
Re: Electrolysis Hair Removal
well i'll advice u not to go for it..coz my mum's been going for it for past 10 years and now she have stopped going for electrolysis for like a year and all of them have grown back....i'll prefer u for better go for threding coz its cheaper and not that painfull...

i dont think so i have some hormonal problems coz i have regular peroids, my weight is absolutely normal and i dont have acne problem. Actually its hereditary.
as far as waxing is concerned many people say it makes the hair coarse and strong specially in case of facial hair.
Re: Electrolysis Hair Removal
i was told waxing stretches out your skin…so it’s not good as a long term thing.
GreenBird it works just as same for men as it does for eomen. Infact that link Aiesha posted has info about getting rid of ear hair as well ![]()
Re: Electrolysis Hair Removal
u’re on a roll today arentchya..
go with the threading, its by far the best one .. and works even better if u’ve thin lines..

Re: Electrolysis Hair Removal
laser is not permanent as the lady said already. scarring from electrolysis will only result if your electrologist has no idea what she is doing i.e. inserting the needle all wrong. when you search for an electrologist make sure its not some beauty salon business set up that just bought a machine and dont have any credentials. check to see if they are licensed to perform it and check to see if they have been in business for a long time.
im sorry i cant be of any help regarding electrologists in pakistan or rawalpindi.
regardless scarring is not supposed to result from electrolysis if u take all the proper precautions like not pick or scratch the area, not wear any makeup, and ofcourse if the electrologists is inserting the needle properly and using the right frequency.
