Re: Electrolux Wisden International Awards…
In this category, I would pick Sarwan, that was a match winning knock without any doubts.
Micheal Vaughan comes second, but that match didn’t have McGrath in it.
Though Shoaib’s performance in that particular match was one of the best bowling displays I have seen in a long time but Andrew Caddick countered the mighty Aussie batsmen in Sydeny when the match was looking for a certain draw.
I pick Caddick in that category.
Tough call, but in that category, I would pick Andrew Symonds.
Played probably the best one day knock of all time, he completely took the game out of Pakistan’s reach after Australia were struggling on 82/4
Sachin’s knock comes very close too.
Graham Smith without any doubts.
Personally I think he is the biggest piece of trash to come out of South Africa, but admire his on field leadership and his Hayden like batting.
Rickey Ponting by a long shot, he showed the attitude of a perfect captain and led his team to the most dominant world cup campaign ever. And also a great batsman.
Rahul Dravid by a long shot, he has again proved that he is the best batsman from India, a definite match winner.
stephen fleming's innings in the world cup was the best one-day innings i have seen....
build around courage, determination and perfection....
