i mean explosive ones.. they last a few seconds only.. especially when im getting up from a sitting position .. but today its been goin on and off regardless of sitting or standing etc…
any other pregnant guppan ever feel this? i dont have high blood pressure and i think my diet has been good.. i dont know where my iron level stands these days.. have a docs appt on wednesday… but it would be nice to know what the hell is up…
i have only 2 problems.. shortage of breath to the point of gasping … and these horrific headaches that last only a few seconds each time but hurt like a *****.. as if my brain is getting fried… i just dont know whats goin on..
ive had these 2 symptoms from the beginning of my pregnancy but the headache today has been out of this world! i wouldnt actually call it a heacache cuz it comes and goes and doesnt stay for long..
Both the headache and the shortness of breath can be due to vascular issues. Not that its a huge problem or one that will have a big impact on baby, but one that for sure can be a big headache (excuse the pun) for the mom.
Many docs will check things out and then prescribe low-dose (baby) aspirin, 81 mg a day. When its really problematic then the treatment is a more aggressive blood-thinner called heparin.
Its worth looking into. I was prescribed baby aspirin for only the first trimester for my first child. Once he was born and the placental pathology was done (I was "high-risk" pregnancy and asked for this extra test), I was told that for any subsequent pregnancy I should take baby asprin throughout the entire pregnancy not just first trimester. My firstborn has some learning delay and autistic tendencies and the other 2 do not.
So anyway, the symptoms you're having are pretty typical of almost any normal pregnancy. Mine was anything but a normal pregnancy so dont take my message as a scary thing. But if your symptoms worry you, talk to your doc and see whether you might benefit from something like baby aspirin to ease the symptoms.
did u also get the headaches like i have described.. some of my friends have had normal headaches or migraines.. but nothing like what i have described :(
kw, no I didnt get these headaches but I did get the shortness of breath. I went for a study called something like "intrauterine vascular study" which was basically a detailed ultrasound which measured the volume of blood flowing into and out of the uterine arteries and it showed that although my personal arteries were fine, my uterine arteries did not supply enough blood to the placenta. And at the time, I was working for a placental pathologist. Many, many of her patients suffered migraine/severe headache and her first recommendation was always to send them for this artery test. Almost invariably, they had vascular issues which were treated with blood thinners.
I am not a doc so I cant say that this is whats going on with you...but from my experience it kind of makes sense and can be checked out....and treated. You have a doc appointment soon so its something that you can ask about.
I hope I didnt worry you...I mean, I had many issues going on besides just the vascular issues and even those who need the aggressive blood thinner (heparin) usually go on to have a completely normal birth and normal child. I just think that the more you know, the better you can do yeah? Its worth looking into I mean.

InshAllah all is well khawa. I do know someone who has had severe issues with blood clots in the brain during both pregnancies. MashAllah, she is fine -- but with careful attention and special procedures from doctors.
thanks mama for your helpful info… its gonna require a lot of headbutting with the docs though cuz so far im getting a lot of its normal during pregnancy … who knows.. maybe it is..
