Hi,

I’m wondering if someone can help me here.
I purchased a rice cooker recently and just yesterday I made some rice with sausages. Well, it turned out allright…

My question is that can we add any spices while making the rice, and is it possible to make pasta or boil chicken in it, too?

Also, if someone could tell me how much water to use with 1-cup or 2-cups of rice.

Please, experienced rice cooker users, let me know.

You can definitely add spices. I also add potatoes and veggies to my rice. I've never tried pasta or chicken.

Didn't the rice cooker come with instructions regarding the amount of water, etc? For mine I add the same number of cups of water as of rice and then an extra 0.5 cup or 1 cup.

I am not an expert cook, but do not add anything while the rice is cooking, or atleast the water starts boiling, as simple thermodynamics will result in the glass eventually cracking on the top lid, refer to the instruction manual, it can even crack if you add the wrong amount of water.
