So my mother has some shoulder joint problems , because of which , using a knife to cut vegies has become a big effort task for her … I have been on the lookout in the market for something like Electric knife …
The nearest I can find in the market is the electric carving knife … has anyone used it? any reviews …? any other options you can recomend please?
We got one but i found it idiotic and useless!! Its by moulinex so i know its not cuz of the brand... I dont know...it just didnt do the trick for me... Its like using an electric saw!
Diamond she's in dubai so finding a maid is not an option :(
Khawa , she hasnt used it yet , I am thinking of sending her one .. but my concerns around it are :
- The comfort on using it
- What if she accidently cuts her finger :(
- I am not sure if the carving knife is good enough to chop and slice things like onion / vegies etc ?
You have used it , tell me is going to be a really horrible investment?
Electric carving knife cannot be used for peeling , slicing , cutting or dicing veggies.
These were the options I tried successfully when my wife was suffering from severe arthritis and could not use knife at all. She was so sick at one point that she could not pour tea into the cup.
A couple of our neighbors used to peal , slice and dice veggies for her when I was too bogged down with household chores and my job requirements.
Bought pre-packaged peeled , sliced , diced and cut veggies.
Used salad shooter , slicer , and onion chopper they all worked good. I would peel , slice , dice and cut lots of veggies in advance and freeze/refrigerate them for later use.
Cb: nopes... Cant do jack with it veggy fruit wise.... And the most horrible thing... When cutting whole chicken or trying to make pcs ... It ised to make bone splinter into itsy bitsy pcs instead of one clean cut!!!!! The idiocy of it!
My mom has issues with her rit arm nerves ....and cant do a whole lot.... we had to get a maid that could help her with these chores... Ask the butcher to clean and cut the poultry and ,eat (its very common in the mid east), buyfried onions though i know the taste isnt the same.. And whatever else mirxh said...
There are some legal maids that have the permission to work elsewhere than at their employers place... Ask ure mom to look around... Get the scoop from the social circle....
Our case was rhe same... Dad didnt want to hire an illegal and getting one from indonesia would have been expensive.... So they spread the word at the desi shops and tailors in the area... And lo and behild.... Out came a swarm :d
We hired our tailors wife as the maid... We have no responsibility over her since she is amrried to a legal worker in the kingdom...comes, cleans and leaves at the end of the day
A LOT of desi labourers have married indonesians etc cuz they cant get their wives in from the home country... Tjey work as maids. Are legal.
