The spirit of elections is still fresh in our memories. A thought crossed my mind last night watching Colts-Vikings game, I guess mind works in mysterious ways or metaphorically speaking I am smoking too many funny cigarettes . Why don’t we hold elections on gupistan, we can create dems, reps, and inds, have the guppies register for one, hold caucuses and select party leaders and then vote. Just an idea but IMHO will be a good exercise in elections, voting, preventing election fraud (people registering under different nicks) , green card holders (jr members not allowed) etc etc. Just a thought what do you fellow guppies think.
Moderators please feel free to move this thread to its appropriate place.
i have been suggesting this from a long time....
every forum shud have 2 moderators....
one selected by the admin(s) and the other elected by the guppies....
we all need to feel special....
P.S. anyone who uses more than 3 smilies in his/her post will be considered under-aged and hence not qualified to vote....

No I respectfully disagree, freedom of speech. Plus it screws me out of a vote if we decide to go that route. I love smilies and expressing whats on my mind using them, I have been suggesting that gupistan add more smilies (a different thread though).
PCgudia: I actually put this in the world forum, however it was moved to feed section. I thought and stuill think that it will be a good exercise plus fun.
This is what I had in mind. Jr Members cannot vote. Members cannot stand for elections only sr or the one degree after that can run. We have ~21 forums so each forum gets an electoral vote plus the forums with sub forums get one addtional electoral vote.
We would register along three party lines khota (dem), hathi(elephant) or kaamchor (ind). Gupistan would need to modify cookie or add something somehow to prevent election fraud when registering.
Just a few thoughts.
We did something similar where I work, we created a website and asked all emplyees (165,000) to sign up and play Survivor. The website was a hit in US but all our counter parts in EMEA ASIA-PAC had no clue becasue they were not aware of the game (even though instructions were provided). We did this 3 yrs ago and must have been in the back of my mind that it popped up in the election form.

that is not fair...Some of these subforums (like Arcade) hardly have any posts...the electoral votes should depend on the total number of posts in a forum...so this way Cafe would probably get the most electoral votes..
ooh and i'd like to register as a hathi(repub)..and the first thing id like to see would be the total elimination of gay smilies and gay threads from GS..
