Given all Musharraf’s failings, had the nation voted in or supported some cleaner, newer figures; whoever they may have been, but anyone other than Nawaz, Zaradari and their respective attachment brigades, the urge for a change, democracy, people’s representation and so on would have carried weight. In doing what the nation has done in not learning the lesson self and foolishly vesting massive confidence in hope of the politicians’ having learned lessons, the nation has blundered.
Maybe the lack of choice is to blame? But that’s where inference comes in handy and one sticks with a less risky option. If held hostage today, what wisdom dictates running back to the other goon who ravaged you day before yesterday!?
