Elections 2013......shades from the past

Re: Elections 2013......shades from the past

He got absolute power through corruption. You get 19% of votes and 27% of seats and still want to be Prime Minister? Ah well, lets do udhar tum idhar hum.

Re: Elections 2013......shades from the past

Bhuttos vote in west Pakistan was through fair means. But he wasnt the victor in the elections. Sheikh Mujib was. But then began the quest for power through illegal means.....East Pakistan split.....Bhutto got drunk in his power...and the rest is history.

Re: Elections 2013......shades from the past

Forget east Pakistan (army played a role as well), but you don't think he won it fair and square in west Pakistan? It is another thing that he even disillusioned his core ideologues after election but same can be said about mujeeb in Bangladesh.

Re: Elections 2013......shades from the past

We cannot forget East Pakistan, as in 1970, East Pakistan was a province of Pakistan.
Bhutto won the vote in West Pakistan, but Sh. Mujib was the winner in East Pakistan, and had majority seats, and was in position to form the govt. Bhutto and army colluded to set him aside........the country split, and Bhutto was left with the west Pakistan mandate. Ideally, elections should have been held again after east Pakistan split.

Re: Elections 2013......shades from the past

So, lets assume PPP won fair and square in Sindh in this elections. How would you feel if they want to make the province into a separate country and claim victory?

Re: Elections 2013......shades from the past

I don't know what I could do or even feel about it really? I might feel bad but that could be that the sindhi nationalists haven't minced good words for muhajirs or others like punjabis for which the hatred is even worse. Altaf has backtracked that he didn't outright say to detach karachi, but I assume that the army would be coming in kicking some *** if that were to happen.
