BLOODIEST ELECTIONS IS WHAT I WOULD SAY!
How many people died, got killed, shaheed...if that makes an election great we dont want any great elections in Pakistan.

do you mean in the run up to the elections? I agree, those were pretty bad. I meant the actual election day, which was relatively fighting-free (gun-fights here and there almost always happen in pak elections)

its not just a good election in terms of how it happened, but im happy with the results too.

shows that people rejected the false choice offered by Musharraf... me or the extremists. Secularist, anti-dictatorship parties sweeping.

hes not a Mullah either, although hes a little right-wing. That said MQM, ANP, PPP have had very good elections, all secular parties.

Truth be told, many Guppies believed that these elections will be a complete farce. Some individuals believed that these elections would be the first step towards Pakistan moving into anarchy. Whatever the results, who ever the winner, one person who must be applauded is Musharraff. He may have done controversial things in the past, but by having free and fair elections he showed his true colours today. He really does work for the federation…and he’s not hungry to cling on to power as much as people say he does. I’ve said it before in another thread, but I’ll say it again…Bravo Musharraff…for respecting the people’s decision, for bringing in the new era of politics in Pakistan, and bravo for letting your enemies have a fair chance in winning. It would not be an overstatement to say, that Musharraff is the only politician who has ever allowed his opposition a fair chance.

Besides that…may the best man win

Especially after the devastating defeat of JUI, MMA (the taliban buddies), there is no change in Pakistani nations mindset noteable.
Now no one can blame the average Pakistani of still supporting these extremists.

Mashallah. It really is excellent news, and shows that people that were worried that there will be unprecedented rigging were wrong, and they did not need to worry.

God Bless President Musharaf for the elections which are being hailed by the world, and people in Pakistan, as the Freeest and fairest in Pakistan’s history. :k:

Indeed. Musharraf held free and fair elections, knowing that he may lose. Also they were safe with turn out better than previous elections. No matter what anti-Musharraf preach, Musharraf is a really good guy, good for the country, good for the world.

Absolutely right. That is why no poltical party will try to oust a great leader like President Musharaf when they are in power, despite their pre-poll rhetoric.
