Election predictions

Re: Election predictions

PML Q leader even though they are lotas - are very influential people and they have given lots of Rickshaws to the poor people of their area. It would be difficult to countereffect their personal influence for anyother opponent.

Re: Election predictions

They are just being humbel to settle for 40, if they want ( under the supervision of Army/Establishment) they can win all the seats on NA. :)

Re: Election predictions

Personally I think there have been no mass rigged polls in the history of Pakistan. And it is not possible to mass rig any in future.

Re: Election predictions

I totally agree. Ronay walay rotay he rahaingay.

Re: Election predictions

The MQM had 19 seats in the former National Assembly.

The Jamiat-e-Islami won 4 seats and JUP (Noorani) won 2 from Karachi and Hyderabad. If these parties go through with their threat to boycott the elections, these 6 seats will by default be won by the MQM.

Hence, the MQM at most could end up with around 25 seats (1/3 of the overall total from Sindh).

Re: Election predictions

May be in Karachi....but in Punjab polls were massively rigged in 2002.....the establishment had arranged 20000/22000 votes per constituency by distributing prestamped ballot papers.....still when the election results started pouring in, to the dismay of establishment Q league was losing massively......they stopped announcing results from 9:00 p.m till 10:30 a.m.....and eventually when they declared the results they gave majority of the seats to Q league.....I personally witnessed all this drama on atleast two seats....Hamayun Akhtar Khan and Kasuri...their supporters went home initially when they started recieving results and themselves could not believe when they were declared successful...by the way I was glad to see picture of Kasuri's wife and daughters protesting against the regime with Tehreek e Insaaf in "The News" today (Lahore edition and not on internet edition)...his wife is the owner of Beacon House Schools in Pakistan...they were witness to this rigging first hand in 2002>>>

This time looking at the mood of Punjab electorate if an election really takes place where every party participates they are going to need atleast 40000/45000 prestamped ballots for Q league per constituency....

However it's true if the elections take place directly between Q league and PPP, Q league will win 80% of the seats even without rigging.....Punjab today does not vote fo PPP....even southern Punjab....

The importance of powerful candidates has diminished in Punjab just like Karachi....Baradari votes and chaudry votes are not more than 3/4000 per constituency.....Punjab is now much urbanized or semi urbanized with a lot of increase in education....sometimes I really get amused by Karachiites who have never been in Punjab ever in their lives become such experts on Punjab....but with due apologies to my Karachiite brothers....and personally I would like to see IK getting popular in Punjab.....Nawaz Sharif is by default the most popular leader in Punjab.....and unless the polls are massively rigged and it doesn't matter if he personally stands in the election or not ( just like Altaf Husain in Karachi)....he will win any fair election in Punjab with a very big margin>>>>

Please Karachiites who do not know any thing about Punjab refrain from making comments on my post....however I would like to hear anyone who lives in Punjab and knows Punjab very well to comment on my analysis>>>>

Re: Election predictions

I think your desire will be fully realized courtesy of your beloved dictator and the effort he has done for last six months.....however I am not going to bet on the chances of his survival for next six months.....mark my words and the date today....

Re: Election predictions

Please be democratic! Is NS more popular than IK in punjab?

Re: Election predictions

Contrary to my liking it is a fact NS is the most popular leader in Punjab....just imagine he has been declared the most popular leader is every independent poll....all his support is driven from Punjab....just isolate his popularity from Punjab and translate it in to number of seats if a fair election is held....you will get the numbers yourself....

Re: Election predictions

I think the greatest shock to BB has been the pathetic receptions she has got to date in the large cities of Punjab. Nobody turned out to see her in Rawalpindi and Lahore, and in 7 weeks since her return she has yet to venture to the "seraiki belt" where the PPP used to be the strongest. Nobody is stopping her. Obviously she has got soundings back that her support is either non-existent now, like upper and central Punjab, or people are quite hostile to her.

Re: Election predictions

Then sorry to say, I understand people of punjab more than you do! This is really frustrating then.

Re: Election predictions

It also means there is no true national party now. Poeple of Pakistan are now truly divided into ethnicities?

Re: Election predictions

I am afraid you are right....what else you can expect when for last 60 years a normal democratic process has been engineered by our establishment mafia....they did not let any quality leadership evolve naturally on national level.....while you can see yourself in India.....people are becoming ethnically tolerant....and evolution of leadership is taking place through their national parties who have become democratic in real sense>>>
