So it’s Federal Election Day in Canada… I just came back from voting.
Just wondering what the guppies’ endorsement looks like?
Can we make this a poll?
Choices:
Liberal Party of Canada
Conservative Party of Canada
New Democratic Party
Green Party of Canada
Bloc Québécois
Marijuana Party
Marxist-Leninist Party of Canada
I am going for NDP too but at last minute I am having doubts, will my vote be an empty vote? I rather go for Liberals, atleast if the Conservatives win, Liberals will be minority gov?
Yeah… tax cuts at the cost of leaving a fiscal gap for the premiers to pay for the important big ticket programs like health care and education. Random chicken wing tax cuts and poorly targeted handouts along with an increase in military spending – we’re well on our way to emptying the fiscal cupboard for the more important public social programs that have always been the keystone of our society.
^^ if u remember millitary spendings were started by liberals and they were the ones send the forces to afghanistan as harper is been here only for 2 years and iraq was started in 2001. plus liberals voted for harpers policy in the parliament for iraq war twice.
Dion is dumb and layton is a good man but doesn know anything about economy. the only economist we had was Harper.
Liberals were hated in BC in this election .. knoiw y?? cuz they implemented Carbon tax over there, and they also wanted tto do it in the whole canada, geniouses.
the whole world is doing bailouts. USA $850 billion, Germany $680 Billion. France 360 billion Euros, UK 85 billion euros Australia and Newzealand is preparing for it and China has already passed the bailout bill 4 months ago.
Only we in G8 nations r strong right now cuz our banking system is been ranked 1 in the world last friday. despite all the US automakers shutting there plants in canada we still produced more jobs.
I don't like Dion either... and I didn't vote Liberals for that reason. I think if Bob Rae was the leader, I might have... I respect him.
but I think the NDP had a fairly good platform for the economy.
As far as the whole carbon tax debate goes, I just think people don't understand what the Liberals were proposing... it was basically a tax shift for companies - and the end result on taxes would have been balanced... but that's a long discussion for some other time.
For now, I'm just dreading another call to the polls in a year's time... I'm getting tired of this.
Regardless of the failure to produce majority government, Harper has reaffirmed his mandate from the people to lead the country into the global economic uncertaincy ahead.

Bro i think u dont understand the green shift plan.what Dion accepted on tv and my city hamilton that "wat green shift plan does is that it put more taxes on polluters in ur area like the steal mills and then we use that tax money to find ways for those companies to reduce pollution and it might take more than 4 years"
thats wat he explained, and if i dont understand it its his fault.
and as i mentioned b4 Layton is a good man but doesn know anything about economy. he based his whole campaign on the jobs lost cuz of the automaker plants shut down and used it to attack harper. now be honest and tell me that is he that illetrate to know that the autoplants were closed cuz of wats happening on the other side of border and those automakers are americans not canadians and there is nothing we could do about that (although he gave fundings to their canadian ventures) and despite those plants shut we still had more jobs produced and remained in the positive zone.
and dont u remember the lumber issue? liberals couldnt even solve it with USA after years and years of government but harper solved it the way canadians wanted with USA in the first year.
Even a sneeeeze on the american side used to make a ripple effect here but now canada is the LEAST affected country in the G8 countries, no bailouts so sar and the STRONGEST banking system in the world
