I think they have warned all parties yesterday to abide by the code and restrict themselves form personal attacks of other party's leaders. Now IK did that again today and they have taken notice of this.

The Election Commission of Pakistan (ECP) has warned all political parties that personal attacks during election campaigns is a violation of the election code of conduct. The warning was issued by the commission on a complaint filed by Presidential spokesperson Senator Farhatullah Babar with the ECP about the political vilification of President Asif Ali Zardari.
Senator Babar asked Chief Election Commissioner Fakhruddin G Ebrahim to look into the matter and issue directives to political parties, particularly the PML-N, to desist from political attacks against the person of the president. On Friday, the commission taking serious notice of statements made by some candidates casting aspersion on the person of their opponents, the commission warned that it was a violation of the code of conduct.
**The code of conduct states: "The political parties, contesting candidates and their supporters shall refrain from deliberate dissemination of false and malicious information and shall not indulge in forgeries and disinformation to defame other political parties / leaders. The use of abusive language against the leaders and candidates shall be avoided at all costs.
"Criticism of other political parties and opponent candidates shall be confined to their policies and programmes, past record and work. Parties and candidates shall refrain from criticism of any aspect of private life, not connected with the public activities of the leaders or workers of other parties. Criticism based on unverified allegations and distortion of facts shall be avoided. “The ECP expects that henceforth the occurrence of such violation will not take place from any contesting candidate or political party which might necessitate issuance of a directive under the law.”**

ECP takes notice of Imran Khan
****ISLAMABAD: The Election Commission of Pakistan (ECP) took notice of Pakistan Tehreek-e-Insaf (PTI) Chief Imran Khan’s “personal attack” against Pakistan Muslim League-Nawaz (PML-N) on Saturday, Express News reported.
Earlier the same day, Khan had addressed a rally in Bahawalpur, where he used words for Nawaz Sharif that the ECP found objectionable.
The entire speech will be put before the ECP Chief Fakhruddin Ebrahim in a meeting on Tuesday, where it will be evaluated whether the speech contained offensive remarks or not.
On Friday, ECP had issued a notification prohibiting political parties and their candidates from launching personal attacks against their opponents.
With election campaign in full swing and parties holding rallies, candidates were seen criticising each other and often resorting to name-calling and rhetoric that could be construed as slander.

I suppose its a result of Zardari's letter to ECP.
I dont appreciate this name calling either. otherwise he criticises Sharif bros for policies and not on Kim Barker or multiple marriages.

IK is well educated and a sober person and the so call AWAMI language he using in his adresses is not matching with his character neither his politics. He spouse to lead a nation as he claiming so he should avoid bazari totke.

I do not condone name calling, but this raises question mark on the priorities of the election commission. Is name calling a graver threat as compared to the bomb blasts on political parties?

let them do what they can do. Personal attacks on each other is against the code and ECP is trying to implement the code.
stopping bomb blasts is not in the hands of ECP, they have been condemning that. Government and intelligence authorities need to be wake up.
