Election Aftermath

I’d just like to take a few minutes and thank the founding fathers of my country…Thomas Jefferson, Alexander Hamilton, Benjamin Franklin, George Washington, James Madison, etc.

I thank them for constructing a well-organized and stable Constitution under which the government of our country would run. We have been thriving under the same general Constitution which was originally created in 1780-something. I thank our founding fathers for incorporating great philosophies such as that of John Locke and Montesque(sp?) into our Constitution. And, most importantly (and what inspired me to open this thread), I thank them for creating an equal government in which the voice of the masses will be heard, and the common good will be served.

Since the Democrats won the House of Reps and the Senate, you could say that Bush hardly has any power at all any more. These final two years of his term will be like hell from him. :phati: Any bill that needs to passed or whatever, the House and Senate will get it done with or without Bush’s consent (I think they make up 51% of the vote or something like that).

Anyways, my political stance may be wrong. Allah(swt) knows best. And I just pray that the outcome of this election is in the best interest of all of humanity.

Re: Election Aftermath

and what do you want to discuss here :hoonh:

Re: Election Aftermath

I want to discusssss thattttt…aside from the horrible situation that these idiotic republicans have gotten us in regarding foreign affairs, this is a great country. :phati: and I’m also praising the founders of the US Constitution for doing such a wonderful job.

and now let’s party. because the democrats won. and bushy is gonna be having nightmares from now on. :shoaby:

Re: Election Aftermath

Re: Election Aftermath

:)

Re: Election Aftermath

In the end the president remains an idiot and he'll be the magnet for both republicans/democrats.

What we need is martial law - maybe Mr Musharaf can teach our nation some thing new?

Re: Election Aftermath

A very fullfilling and enlightening post

Re: Election Aftermath

LOL what the heck?! :smack: umm I’m not exactly sure…you might want to check up on the potatoe market in Ireland. They kill for potatoes there, ya know. :open_mouth:

Rockistan - Please, don’t try to corrupt what has already suffered enough perversion already. If the founding fathers were alive today, they would have a heart attack at some of the things going on in this country. And still, the governmental structure that has been set up for this country has allowed for only the least possible amount of corruption, I’d say.

Re: Election Aftermath

Dammit.

No. No way…there’s GOT to be some way around it. I’m sure they expected that there would be leaders of this country who were abusive, so they must have some sort of loophole around it turning into an absolute monarchy.

Absolute power corrupts absolutely. :phati:

Re: Election Aftermath

:phati:

Re: Election Aftermath

Well ofcourse he has to have logical reasons to veto a bill and if he abuses his power, congress can take action. Just like gupshup, mods have the power to veto requests by members, but if a mod is abusing his/her power, he can be brought before admins :phati:

Re: Election Aftermath

No need to worry about potatoes anymore. The prices are on downfall.
The serious issue is with “Chai ki Pati” :chai:
