HYDERABAD, India An elderly couple in south India was so devastated by the death of their dog they committed suicide.
Police say the couple left behind a note saying they were ending their lives over the loss of “Puppy.”
The 66-year-old man and his 63-year-old wife were found hanging in their home yesterday after neighbors told police about a foul smell coming from the home.

The note also requested the police to inform their relatives about their death and the couple left behind money for their funeral.
The man’s nephew says “They were so shocked and saddened by the loss of their companion that they performed a formal funeral. They wrapped its body in cloth and buried in the backyard of their home.”
