Re: Ek Larka aur Ek Larki kabhi Dost…
It’s not possible, a guy and girl can be friends or acquaintances on good terms with each other, but best friends? I don’t think so. When both start opening up to each other on a deeper level, feelings eventually come into play. And yes it is usually the guys who fall for the girl ![]()

Re: Ek Larka aur Ek Larki kabhi Dost.........
yes emotional attachment is definitely possible for either side but that only happens when there is a very close intimate relationship or one is emotionally f-ed up or on the rebound from something. come on desis rarely have such very close intimate friendships
there's always a line that shouldn't be crossed with such guy/girl friendships b/c once it's crossed, the friendship goes down the toilet too

the context of this thread and discussion is different.

maybe that might be the case with desi-desi guy/girl friendships but when certain things like big age difference, difference in religion, difference in subculture come into play you keep a pretty strong distance even if it's a desi-desi friendship. the subconscious mind keeps us in check so that line does not get crossed.
i've had guy friends in college, pakistani, indian, of all different religions, friendships might be strong we depend on each other but you don't get so close that it complicates things. just like how colleagues are in the office environment
Re: Ek Larka aur Ek Larki kabhi Dost.........
Friendship has many levels by itself and some opposite sex relations are even to the lower end level of friendship (acquaintance) or higher level (sharing intimate thoughts/intimate act).
Moreover, one of the two people involved may think it is just friendship. Other may think it is beyond.

college people are called fellow students not friends. in office people are known as coworkers not friends.

well these weren't just fellow students/college people these were friends but there was no touchy/feely stuff, we just spent time with each other.
maybe in your case a girl was just a fellow student and if she was anything more like a friend it means love love love but that's not always the case with friendships with the opposite sex. there can be a line set by atleast one person if not both
