There is still a huge difference between the Hindi of national Geographic dubbed material and bollywood’s Hindi movies. Upto 90s they were using Persianised / Arabic influenced Urdu for bollywood’s songs. Muzaffar Ali’s Umrao Jan was definitely in Urdu, where Rekha had Sheen qaaf wala durst Urdu diction, where as JP Dutta’s Umrao Jaan (Aishwariya Rai) maat kha gai
