I wonder how much of our real life is lived in black or white - where there is an absolute right or wrong and deviating from one of those absolutes is ethically, morally, religiously, and/or legally wrong?
At home, do we treat everyone the same way all of the time? And do other people always measure right and wrong the same way we do and therefore apply the same black and white standard?
And how is it at work or within our larger community/social interactions - is there one rule for everyone, all of the time or does circumstance, history and context change the situation and result in differing treatment and differing outcomes?
Re: Either black or white, or are there shades of grey?
Sehrysh, you often ask question about "how much"....and I think you know the answer: That it can't really be "measured" how much of our life is black, white, gray, or magenta......that not everything is black and white....that there is gray and that the gray CAN depend upon circumstances, and rules and standards are not always adhered to consistently, and some of it has to do with our mood...and how that itself is not consistent....and this transfers over into how we treat people/approach situations...and no we don't always treat our family members let alone others the same way all the time.
Re: Either black or white, or are there shades of grey?
In the long run, we all live a pretty black and white life. Event to event analysis might put few moments of our lives in a gray area, but a broader look can tell the real color.
Re: Either black or white, or are there shades of grey?
The world is gray. All shades of gray. Kinda sucks actually.
Quit quoting me already. I said that a few times. The last time Sehrysh asked this question actually. And 2 years before that when she asked the same question then :p
