**Militants armed with guns and suicide vests have stormed government buildings in the south-western Afghan city of Nimroz, officials say.**They say that the attackers set off a number of explosives and that two suicide bombers blew themselves up outside the governor’s compound.
A gun battle between the insurgents and security forces is still going on.
Taliban militants are active in much of south-west Afghanistan, an area traditionally seen as their stronghold.
“There have been seven explosions so far,” Nimroz governor Ghulam Dastagir Azad told the AFP news agency.
