So who is suppose to get Eidi and who isn’t? Yes, according to Pakistani culture.
Re: Eidi
I earn Eidi from my sisters and brother-in-laws every year so I hope this year I will get my eidi from other people tooooo. I think this tradition was meant for kids only, but now the concept of eidi has been taking different meanings like Eid gifts bangles and other stuff like that people give each other. Eidi is not only taken in the form of money any more.
Re: Eidi
Just grown up ‘men’ cant get eidee from anyone, everyone else can :pcg:
Re: Eidi
Eidi in form of money is given to kids, so that perhaps they go out & get some thing nice to eat, have a fun time with their friends & cousins. but that is about it.
anyone getting a lot of money, in richer families, from their elders, is a bad thing for the child at any age, for a) they are not are of how best to use it for something they actually need or may need later & b) children will grow up thinking, that they can take that source of gifted income for granted, which will very well lead them to become lazy and less responsible.
