The Prophet (S) didn’t usually lead the Eid prayers etc. at the Mosque but instead prayed in a open space of land.
Fine, Muslims should do the same but why build great big buildings called Eidgaah and Janaazgaah to pray Eid and Janaazah prayers in? If you want to follow the Sunnah then pray these prayers in an open field, the Prophet (S) didn’t have seperate buildings called Eidgaah or Janaazgaah for these prayers, such prayers were performed in full site of everyone under the open sky and that’s the Tradition.
Some would argue it’s neccesary incase of bad weather, I disagree, there is a Hadith that the Prophet (S) once led the Eid paryer at Majid Nabawi (S) due to rain.
Muslims should comply with the Sunnah and pray Eid etc. under the open sky in a field and when it rains then pray it in the Mosque.
No need for building great big extravagant structures that are used only twice a year, it’s so wasteful when people are starving in our country, give the money as charity or to a Madrassah to increase religious knowledge.
