Woohoo! Yay, people abroad will get to see one of the better modern films…although I was surprised at the print. Anyone know which channel its coming on and when?
Last night, ARY was doing a chand raat special which was interesting. Artists were competing for prizes (appliances, of course) in a trivia gameshow… one of them is such a cutie so I stopped to watch. It was hosted by Faisal Qureishi. He manages to do everything right. Even gameshow hosting.
Any other shows / dramas that you have seen/will be seeing?
ary are definatly winning the race, geo have sucked completly not just that they did eid one day late and showed islam/iftari/tarawi programs on eid day.
People, just watch LAAJ for the awesome climax with the really cool war sequences, if nothing else. It's amazing they were able to shoot that kinda stuff in the miniscule budget Laaj's film makers had. The music is kinda nice too, the pathan-themed number is my pick from the film. Talat Hussein's powerhouse performance is something to lookout for too! I'm so glad they're showing it on tellie!!
That fashion show last night on Geo was ridiculous. I read an article that Christian Dior is branching out into the Muslim fashion industry cause they have realised there is huge market for hijabis and ‘appropriate’ Muslim wear. I saw a couple of the photographs and they were a lot more stylish and appropriate than the see through abayas with churidaar, tight pajamas with a niqab on the face, that were being sported last night on Geo during the fashion show.
Salaam can some1 plz enlighten me, as to what is Laaj about, and when is it on Geo.
I clevbrated eid on friday so today on saturday I have my 2nd day so is it on today or tomrrow?
I saw that Eid drama directed by Angeline Malik - the one about the old house that this guy is trying to sell, but his old flame doesn't want him to sell it, so she pretends to be his mother's ghost telling him not to sell it. Kuki was in it too - hilarious acting. I think the name of the drama was like Jaainey Jaainey or something.
Then the other one - had a long name - had Fahad Mustafa acting like Waheed Murad and Iman Ali...they were both reminiscing on their old marriage, and I guess they were fantasizing their past as an oldie movie. Really cute and good acting.
There was another drama on GEO - hilaaaaarious - Babar Sheikh plays a bachelor who wants a bonus, so he pretends he's married and has 3 kids. But he asks like 3 ladies to be his pretend wife, and 2 give iffy answers. Turns out that all 3 ladies show up, so the boss thinks he's got 3 wives and he's been decieving them. Haha. It was really hilarious.
Today, they were showing that dance performance by Nighat Chaudry. I didn't see it.
Laaj is playing Sunday in the USA at 8 pm eastern time.
I enjoyed the fahad mustafa and imaan ali drama. It was cute with the beehive hairdo and all :)
ARY also showed a telefilm with Faisal Qureshi and Arjumand Rahim on Thursday which had 4 songs in it - it was fun to watch.
so they gave cridit to what women want.
