It’s a threeway this Eid – and the results will be interesting to watch. The main contenders: O21, Shaan Shahid’s next tour de force after Waar; Na Maloom Afraad, which has created quite a buzz with its peppy trailers and a fresh set of actors; and Bang Bang, the import from Bollywood.
It will be interesting to watch how the public responds to each of these three films. While a more prudent move would have been for one of these flicks to be held back, the box office opening tally now depends on the amount of screenings awarded to each of these flicks and the buzz they generate in the immediate days prior to release. Bollywood import releases Oct 2 so its box office impact would have somewhat waned by the time O21 and NMA open on Oct 6.
My prediction is as follows for the first 3 days of Eid:
O21 - Anywhere between 3 to 5 Crore.
NMA - 2 to 3 Crore.
