I’m having a potluck at my home for Eid. 7-8 families with kids. I have to assign everyone a dish to bring and make one myself of course.
I was thinking that I’d make the biryani or pulao.
Please suggest other stuff.

Re: Eid potluck
Yes! :D
Keep the koftey .. nice with rice
but choose one of the chicken dishes .. I dont think u need all tht meat ?
Re: Eid potluck
But that isn't enough, is it? We should have more dishes? Salad?
Re: Eid potluck
Pizza for the kids.
Re: Eid potluck
You stick with the Palao and Salad/drinks/Raita
Easy things to make the night before.
If you are going to make plain vege palao you can make it on the day of dawat.
Instead of Chicken Karahi, have something of beef.
Download a few kid movies for the children to watch so they have something to keep busy.
Re: Eid potluck
Pasta? Soup for starter? Loads of trifle shifle?
Re: Eid potluck
chicken malai boti
stir fried veggies
Re: Eid potluck
Maybe a veg dish too...or even channay in a thick masala?
rice, koftay, chicken broast and kebabs all sound nice. Raita and salad to accompany.
Kheer and maybe ice cream for the kids
Re: Eid potluck
Hmmm, I like the idea of channey. We'll substitute chicken karahi for some beef dish. Like pasandeys.
Re: Eid potluck
how about haleem ? and for veggie item u could have fried okra or some spicy egg plant salan
Re: Eid potluck
That would be like 3 red meat dishes...
Make pulao, don't make biryani because you have lot of salans. Have vegi dish like aloo palak and grilled/baked vegetables. Yeah instead of karahi you can have chicken stir fry. Make the pulao vegetable.
Oh yeah you can make a baingan salan aswell...
Re: Eid potluck
Yeh channay would be a nice addition and would be a bit different to all the meat dishes you have already decided on.
Are n to have naan too or just rice?
Re: Eid potluck
We'll have naans.
So Pulao, kababs, koftay, broast, channey, some vegetable, chicken stir fry, kheer.
Re: Eid potluck
We made haleem last time and no one really paid attention to it
I think people ate too much of it during ramadan!
Re: Eid potluck
What's sheer?
I think it is sheer khorma, eid's special dessert.
