women are exempt from offering eid prayer [just like jum'a]. any namaaz baa jamaa'at is not recommended for women coz its not required of them. if i were a woman i wud gladly take take ruKhsat

theres this hadeeth which says even if a woman doesnt have to pray( their off days) they should visit the mosque atleast
i am not sure but i have heard that eid ke namaz is like the pay day.We fast through out a month and on eid God blesses us suwaab n stuff? not sure though.

well, what i learned from my dad i just passed it on to others. its more common in the west than in the east. Hazrat Omar [r.a.] had put a ban on women's visit to masaajid and there is a Hadees that if there were supposed to eb another prophet it wud have been Omar [r.a.].**
i am sure theres some misunderstanding/misconception.i havent heard of anything as that.
Islam Question and Answer - Eid prayer for women is Sunnah
although u can read this:phati: where Prophet encouraged women to go to mosque for eid=]

sis, what i understand that yes they were encouraged during the time of prophet [s.a.w.s.] but later when problems started arising Hazrat Umar [r.a.] stopped the practice and i dunno if thet ban ?] was temporary or deemed permanent. anyways, thanx for ur insight and i sure benefited with it. :)**
