The khutba in our mosque was delivered by a Queen’s student. Well spoken.
The theme was how much can one sacrifice. Prophet Ibrahim said yes to slaughter his son. No questions asked. Can anyone from us in modern world go to that extent? probably not. Thats what makes this Eid a great celebration. Was the intention of Allah to slaughter Ismail. Obviously not. He wanted to test the human limits in His service.
One thing he mentioned was that Qurbani was made part of all the religions to follow, in Judaism and Christianity. Is that so, if yes is it followed in other religions and in what form? Anybody?
