Eid begins normally with everyone getting up, getting ready for nimaaz, sawian are made and so are phone calls to close friends and family to say Eid Mubaraak.
kids are given Eidi as a gift, and families get together over dinner.
& Eid can be a day to reflect on one’s ability to have balance between everyday busy life with slowing down and celebrate the faith in the company of fond friends and family, especially kids.
what do you do different on Eid?
those who live by themselves, how do you spend your Eid day?
this was my first eid after marriage so it was special for me although not so entirely different :)
i got to wear a sari, the hubs and i handed out eidi to our younger kids cos we now officially qualify to do so haha, we went for brunch at my khala's house and omg, chaney, aloo, qeema, halwa and puris! you cant go wrong! yummy!, then we made our rounds to friends, which was also fun, and then we came home and had an afternoon nap. lol yay! at night, we continued the party at my mamu's house. it was awesome.
this was the first eid after mum/dad moved away that i really, really missed them. past eid's seem like a blur, but this one, man i was wishing they were there.
mashalah, so much fun and a great ways to begin the continuing year, after-marriage.. may you have many many more Eids liks such. great to hear.
same with my sister - her first Eid with her husband and it was so much to see them as a young couple together.
kids of course like to see their new aunt and uncle, when young couples give them Eidi and love.
