Eid in UK

Eid mubarak to you all. We are doing eid tomorrow 24th. A few people done it today (after only fasting 29 days) but there were no mosques in our area who held eid prayers so these people had to make other arrangements for eid prayers. The majority is doing Eid tomorrow. When is the correct Eid? Should we be doing it the same as Saudi which was today?

Re: Eid in UK

Eid mubarak tabbassum dear i celebrated it on Monday too. Almighty God bless us all Ameen!

Re: Eid in UK

same celebrated it on monday, is there a trend of splitting eid on different days?

Re: Eid in UK

I know its annoying, worrying, and in some cases stupid!!!

Re: Eid in UK

We did Eid today after fasting the full 30 days.

It seems that here in the UK rival mosques look at each other and intentionally do it on different days!

Re: Eid in UK

It’s one of the matters of ijtihad so there's no need to put each other down but we need a British Moon Sighting Committee with representatives from all Islamic denominations, they don’t have to agree with each other’s theological beliefs but just for the sake of having one Eid for the sake of convenience (school/work holidays, events) they should get together to sight the moon and inform their respective Mosques, forget going by Saudia or Pakistan, in the past our people didn’t go with when it was Eid in Mecca, Medina or Jerusalem, they looked for the moon in their own countries.

I can’t wait to see the day that all the children of Islam, (Somalians, Tatars, Yemenis, Bosnians, Native-Anglo-Muslims, Bengalis, Chinese Hui, Punjabis, Pashtuns…) united as nation upon a true understanding of their religion Islam.
