Eid greetings

People used to greet each other for Eid by visiting each other or sending personal Eid cards or call or send some nice food to the neighbours.

These days only a text message sent to the contact list would do and even then some people are too busy to repyl back and say Eid mubarak.

What kind of a world are we getting into? And why are we accepting this non-personal attitude on such special occasions.

I really miss the good childhood days with warm Eid greetings. So sad to see that priorities of people lies somewhere else these days than being nice and warm to each other on these rare days of the year.

For Eid greetings, we usually give a call to family members. A lot of the Eid greeting takes place after the salat before leaving the place where we pray. Then we also visit a handful of people on Eid day or on the next few days when possible.
