Parents, do you do gifts at eid? I remember my parents would get us brand new clothes and cash eidi. But i am thinking of doing toys and new clothes for our toddler and make it a tradition. The thing is she has several toys already. Ofcourse she is not going to know the difference at 17 months but as a parent i will feel guilty if we dont get her any “eidi”.
Please share what you do special for eids for kids.

so this will be in addition to cash eidi? there is no substitue for cash eidi so make sure you continue that tradition with her!
At 17 months of age, you don't have to give her big bucks for eidi but even a $5 would be great and then take her to toy store and let her buy whatever she wants with that cash, in her case whatever she points her fingers at first :D
If she has too many toys, why not get her some books? her favorite cartoon videos? something for her room?
now I wish I had a girl.. I would go crazy shopping for her :D

GTG, something for her room sounds great but i would love to get her some more toys or books, lol. Shes finally getting into playing, loves her doll and makes me put niwalay in the doll's mouth,lol. Cash will have no meaning for her. Oh and i also want to do something for other kids we know, of our friends but we know so many people MA, i cannot possibly buy toys for so many kids at one time.Any suggestions there?Maybe do goodie bags for them?

There are 16 kids that are 12 and under in my immediate social circle that will get together for Eid. What can I give them as eidi (other than cash) that will keep the budget under $10/child?

Muzna, like i said above, maybe goodie bags can be an option?I am sure kids will love the candy, chocolate or the cookies we can add in there? How about adding little bags of flavored popcorn?

you talk about 17 months old…I am gonna get my then Inshallah 5 month old an Eid gift(I already have something in mind) and make sure daddy doesn’t forget $$$ eidee for both mommy and baby…
I already went shopping for a new Eid outfit for her yesterday…

Go to Target and they have these $1 spot.. right now they are loaded with educational stuff so you can buy some from there to add in goodie bags.
