Forget interactions with Muslims. Our social network was relatives and families from our community. Most visitors were from our community.

Mother would give sweets also to the other 3 flats on ground floor and they to us.

The biggest cultural shock was being invited by our Marathi neighbir Diwali morning to eat sweets - all kids sit on floor.

No Muslims in our colony, no Muslims in our school, none or very very few in uni

Why it was a shock when a Marathi family invite you sweets? Don’t you invite others for sweets?
