Means there is no concept of sharing in Western society. This reminds me college days.

In those days we used to have lunch near college.. Sometimes, a student paid bill for whole group and sometimes (in last days of month) there used to be a slogan ‘Aaj American system hoga’, means everyone had to pay for his food
