For a moment I wondered why we forgot to slaughter the bakra this Eid ::bakra emoji::
I know people eat sweets on Eid, I am getting to be my body my temple state setting a good example for children and stay away from sweets and dont normally cook sweets, even for especial ocassions. If at all we consume sweets, it should be consumed with high proteins and fat to limit spike of insulin. I did make Kheer recently, however put lots of powdered milk in it to add to protein and fat content and will add tons of nuts.
No, not sweets. It's an old tradition at our house to eat out at Eid Ul Fitr (Or order in rarely). But since after father's demise 2 years ago, we have not. Sweets are eaten after food usually at our home.
Eid Mubarak everyone!!
Sorry to hear about your Abbu, I know we never ever stop missing them. I try my best to cook for my family as I don’t trust the outside food. I have really gotten very skilled at cooking. Both boys need over 150 grams of protein a day and its an uphill task to provide enough protein for 3 of us.
Yeah, it is not possible to forget the humans you lived your whole life with, had memories with, who always supported, cared for you, always helped out of difficulties when you had no one/nowhere to turn to, about whom you knew would have your back no matter what. The only thing you can do is pray for their well being in their newer journey. No one knows anything about that new journey. I often feel that he is still around but I'm told to reject those feelings because it is not possible. No one has a good answer about where 'aalam-e-barzakh' is. Can anyone prove it is not just around us in a different dimension & everyone currently in aalam-e-barzakh can see us, watch our activities, remind us of certain things, warn us of any dangers or people, send us greetings, messages ? Things that dont make sense to common people because their brains are incapacitated to understand, feel those things are labelled as 'crazy' because of being out of the ordinary. There must be a reason why Allah decided it was better to hide those things from general population because not everyone can accept.
Eids are busy days. Especially baqar eid. So Eid Ul Fitr is usually planned to take little bit of burden off the mother. But it was father who would take us out to eat, travel to different places, meet ups, etc. etc. Mother is an introvert. A cup of tea with her newspaper or TV with news channels she would be happy doing her whole life. Maybe it is her way of relaxation or 'me-time' because she looks after everything else in the household herself.
Some places are reliable to order from. Family sticks to those places. I'm the only who likes to try different new places to break from the routined tastes. Sometimes find good ones that taste better than the international food chains.
Eid Mubarak to all those celebrating.
We never die in a sense, we live in people whom we have touched. It is DNA or knowledge that is getting passed along. My goal is to have an upgrade into DNA and knowledge passed along. Living a good ethical life is how we honor the ones who passed away I call it cumulative morality. Top scientists believe in multiverses. So anything is possible. All that exists in universe is only energy which cannot be created or destroyed
@SleekDesign To the contrary, I think your love for your father, your passion about what you believe in tells me that your father was a good man. I feel you live an ethical life. I don’t even know what your political views are. If I ever differ with your views, that would just be a difference in opinion, not a lack of respect!
People can have different views and still respect each other.
