In Canada - mostly observed, people just flock to their jobs after Eid namaz (if its a weekday). It's generally assumed people can't afford time off in Canada, and have little vacation time. Eid is not fun here at all (unless you have your whole khandaan/family here). Pretty sure its better in NYC than Toronto.

Eid/Ramadhan/Qurbani etc are all more fun in Pakistan, provided you got the money...

I make kheer the night before.

On Eid day, the morning is always a bit busy but usually hubby and kid 1 go for Eid prayer, I clean the house and prep whatever I need to cook. After Eid prayer, my brothers, cousins and brotherinlaw/cousininlaws come by and I serve them kheer and saviyaan (not semviyan of course :halo: ). We eat, chitchat and off they go. Kids get their eidi from dad and me too. Then I finish cooking and get dressed and we join everyone at my parents. My parents usually host the Eid day for everyone and everyone means all my parents siblings, their kids, their kids inlaws etc. It’s pretty fun and nice. I get more eidi. I usually stay the night at my parents with all the bhabhies, we eat and chitchat.

Sounds like a lot of fun! so many people getting along together. Mashallah
