EID and women's fashion choices (religious)

Am I crazy or should we follow Islam when celebrating an Islamic holiday? I find it fairly unsettling when people want to dress immodestly when celebrating ISLAM.

For example, this thread:

Is it too much to ask that if you call yourself a Muslim, you follow Islamic mandate? Why dress in such a way when you are supposedly celebrating your faith, which also states that you dress in a specific manner?

BAH!

You, are a very intelligent woman. Not everyone is the same.

Free fashion show outside masajids and prayer halls before/after Eid salat! lol

but if both men and women want to dress like that then their choice, u never know their intentions.

i couldnt agree with you more! I often see girls come for eid namaz in skinny jeans and tight shirts…quite disappointing I must say :bummer: which makes me wonder…are they even praying? cuz how can you pray in clothes like that…YOU CANT!

where are the parents? why arent they involved? have they totally lost all control? it’s a crying shame.

It’s EID for God’s sake…dress in decent attire!

Ugh, I know.

For me, it’s all about integrity. If you’re going to call yourself a Muslim, act like one. If you’re going to celebrate an Islamic holiday, WHY would you not follow Islamic mandate when doing so? I don’t understand it! It’s so hard for me to accept that some people don’t care about being hypocrites.
