Dear brothers and sisters,
Assalamu Alaykum.
I’m back from a long period that I haven’t joined with you.
I came back to say Eid Mubarak to all of you.
I ask Allah to make this Eid a great Mercy.
This great occasion of Eid Adha. Where all Muslims around the world, hundreds of millions of Muslims get together and share their happiness, the rich and the poor, the young and old.
The Eid where Prophet Ibrahim was going to sacrifice his son in obedience to Allah. But Allah Accepted prophet Ibrahim’s obedience to him, and granted him a sheep and Prophet Ibrahim gave it as a sacrifice for the sake of Allah.
But know that Eid is not about wearing new clothes, eating and drinking.. Eid is about fearing the day of judgment. You know about that day? It’s the day where one will run away from his brother, parents his wife and children. Everyone running for himself.
Allah mentioned in surat al-Hajj which means “O People fear your lord, for, the coming of the day of judgment is something great, the day where the wet nursing women will leave her child, the pregnant will abort her fetus, and you shall see the people as if they are drunk, but they are not drunk however the torture of Allah is sever”.
Remember what we saw in the past 5 years only.. Remember the Turkey disaster that left more than 50,000 people dead? And in Iran Over 20,000? And now you are seeing the natural disaster in southeast Asia, Tusnami, that left more than 165,000 dead and 2 millions homeless? where people are helpless and very weak. All that happened in seconds by the will and power of Allah.
There are a lot of Muslims nationwide suffering in the same way. Why is that? Because of our acts, because of the unjust and the widespread sins. And you know what? On the day of judgment it is severely worse. That’s wاy we must take the hereafter more serious and think about a day where you will be alone underground, in the grave. Think.. What shall you say .. When you find that your book on the day you are questioned, was full of outrageous and abhorrent acts and sins?
Brothers and sisters, Eid is about giving and helping each other, Islam is so beautiful that Muslims give Zakah money to the poor before the day of Eid so that all can share the happiness. This is what Eid is about, heping each other and being there for each other. And about visiting our relatives all of them those who visit us and those who don’t visit us.
Alhamdulillah that Allah made this great event that happened to prophet Ibrahim, a special occasion for us, and a great celebration and therefore it is a recommended thing to make Udhiya, slaughtering a goat to feed the people for the sake of Allah.
And last but not least, I remind you to enjoy celebrating this great Eid and to enjoy it according to the Islamic way. And I remind you to have the fear from Allah, as the poet said:
**
Have God-Fearingness if you ever forget..
Who brings you (Rizq) sustenance from where you don’t know..
How would you fear poverty and Allah is who gives..
For, he gives the birds and whales in seas their needs
The one who thinks that sustenance (Rizq) comes by force
The bird would have not ate anything with the eagle
Increase the good deeds in this life, for, you don’t know..
If the night falls, would you live till morning?
For, how many youth slept and woke laughing
And his shroud is being prepared and he does not know.
How many healthy people died without any illness
And how many ill people have lived year after
The one who lived a 1000 or 2000 years
Surely he will be taken to the grave.
**
I ask Allah to protect us and keep us obedient and God-Fearing, and to grant us the steadfastness on following the guidance of the Prophet, and to protect us from haram and evil. Eid Mubarak to all, may Allah protect us and you, and all the Muslims worldwide.
